Your physical power needs process & precision (4 of 7)

When I recorded The Seven Secrets of Increasing Personal Energy as an online course perhaps the standout secret was physical energy. We all know that sleep, nutrition and exercise can influence how we perform in work and life but many of us lack a system that can improve our physical energy levels.

In this short video I share a very simple system developed by Brendon Burchard…

Burchard is the author of The Charge and The Motivation Manifesto so he knows a thing or two about boosting energy levels. Take a look at his system and adapt it to to suit your needs. The numbers must be adapted for all of us, but don’t take any short cuts – a lack of discipline in one area quickly affects other areas.

  • 1 to 2 breaks per hour
  • 2 to 3 longer exercise sessions
  • 4 to 5 meals
  • 6 to 7 litres of water
  • 8 to 9 hours sleep

Personally I stick to 3 meals a day and if I need anything outside of that then I have to question the quality of the previous meal/s. 2 to 3 litres of water is enough for me (this obviously goes up when I exercise or if it gets hot). Oh, and the previous sentence will encourage point number 1 – but in the form of bathroom breaks!?

If you want to increase your physical energy (who doesn’t) then you can access the full lecture and the rest of the course (The 7 Secrets of Increasing Personal Energy: Introduction) for free here.
