LSD – natural authentic change
Written by Stuart Haden on October 15, 2014
LSD? No I am not supporting drug use as an effective way to encourage natural authentic change! Instead I am back down Storm Beach exploring Long Shore Drift (LSD) – a patient continuous approach to change. One that involves progression and suspension, as pebbles move and fall with the waves and tide. Natures secret, well is often secret. So imperceptible that we hardly notice it. Perhaps we can learn from this? Maybe we don’t need the hurricane of change as we re-structure departments. Maybe a gentle, yet persistent wind will do it…
This short video (4:26) not only introduces you to the simple theory but also the applications to personal, team and organizational change.
Or, as a quote from my book describes…
“The change was always happening, the only variable was the amount of energy. I realised you have got to be constantly scanning the environment for waves that might be coming your way or opportunities to make these waves yourself. The key here is to focus on the external environment. Where the energy might come from?”
