Have you been to a school of emotion? (5 of 7)

Written by Stuart Haden on October 6, 2015

It’s strange don’t you think…we refer to schools of thought. But what about schools of emotion? Emotional Intelligence is a key part of harnessing your personal energy. Fear can get in the way of everything that we do. But if we train our hearts just like we can our muscles then we can develop pride and esteem. Relationships, emotions, social interactions and confidence can all improve. The bonds we make, and those we need to break. Time to start tugging at your heart strings.

People who harness emotional energy recognise that technique doesn’t feature, at least not all of the time. As Jimmy Page (the lead guitarist for rock group Led Zeppelin) once said – “I deal in emotions.” This short video expands on this concept and describes the three things that allow me to to tug at my heart strings…

  1. Connections – when I deeply connect with someone or something then I notice the increase in my energy. Perhaps smartphones aren’t that bad after all.
  2. The power of place – returning to my roots is integral to us all. Who we are and where we have come from. A trip down memory lane maybe.
  3. Family – yes spending times with loved ones energises us but here we can also be conscious of boosting the energy of others. If we aren’t taking other people on the journey then what’s the point?
