Authenticity – keeping it simple

Written by Stuart Haden on October 3, 2014

If something is to be described as simple it must have at least three dimensions, no more no less. How many parts are there to my book? How many paragraphs are there in my blogs? How many sides are there in the Storm Beach logo?

Three, every time three. This doesn’t always happen by chance, this is deliberate. The three sided shape is the most efficient and effective shape known to man. In this somewhat playful video (3:43) I describe how

Free copy of my book for one small favour

Written by Stuart Haden on September 23, 2014

If you are reading this then I know you are a keen supporter of the work that I do. I have just published my my first online course – The Art of Leadership & Coaching hosted by Udemy https://www.udemy.com/the-art-of-leadership-coaching/?dtcode=ahl8zgu7#/ I am hoping that you can help me launch this product. I firmly believe that we need to work together as experts in our field, if we can be seen to support each other then it can only benefit the work that we do.

Of course that

Authenticity and your wild side

Written by Stuart Haden on September 17, 2014

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to stumble on the work of Daniel Vitalis. He encourages us to ReWild ourselves and bring us closer to our wild, authentic self. In a way it’s hard (and yet so simple) to convey his intentions so I encourage you to check out his ReWild Yourself! Magazine and explore this exciting concept for yourself. Bringing in experts on food and exercise etc Daniel absolutely challenges our world view – how we’ve been domesticated as

Harness energy by using voice recognition software

Written by Stuart Haden on September 11, 2014

The outcome of the work that I do is to harness energy and develop high performance. Here is an energy saving hack that you can’t ignore. I’m writing this posting in a traffic jam, using voice recognition software. I use Apple products so on my iPhone and iPad I use the Pages app (equivalent to Word in Microsoft terms). I simply use the built in Siri voice recognition software, speaking clearly into the device that translates into text. Using Pages

An authentic response from a world renowned author

Written by Stuart Haden on September 4, 2014

When I was writing my book (It’s Not About The Coach) I reached out to the good and great of coaching for endorsements. I have had some wonderful comments that have helped me along my way. Some have tried to derail my progress which only strengthened my resolve. Some supported me when I needed it and a couple helped me see things from new perspectives. But the award for the most authentic response has to go to Richard Bach the American writer who

“Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken”

Written by Stuart Haden on August 27, 2014

There aren’t many books that get to the heart of authenticity quickly, but Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken does exactly that. The author Mike Robbins declares that he ‘teaches people how to infuse their lives and businesses with authenticity and appreciation,’ so for that reason alone I had to check out his work. His straight to the point no nonsense (authentic!?) style presents the case for authenticity as well as describing why we can find it so challenging –

Three phases of change – form, transform and formless

Written by Stuart Haden on August 20, 2014

This is one of my favourite maps of all time. Simple to understand and apply. Yet it can bring a level of complexity and stretch beyond your imagination. In the context of culture change I describe the following three areas in this short video (3:54).

Form – what do you need to create in order to engender the intended culture?

Transform – now we need to kick on and change what your have already changed.

Formless – aspects of the culture need to

It’s Not About The Coach meets Apocolypse Now

Written by Stuart Haden on August 13, 2014

I have watched the film Apocalypse Now many a time. On a recent re-watch the words of the character Willard played by Martin Sheen helped me understand why I have brought such a personal narrative to my first book…

“There is no way to tell his story without telling my own. And if his story really is a confession, then so is mine”

In order to be authentic we have to tell stories, sometimes these can be of a very personal nature. Showing our

The science behind the law of attraction – entanglement

Written by Stuart Haden on August 6, 2014

You catch yourself daydreaming, you start thinking about friend whom you haven’t been in touch with for a while. The next thing you know within a matter of hours or days that friend contacts you. Our of the blue? Romantically yes. Scientifically no. What you have just experienced is the law of attraction. To be more precise (and in scientific terms) this is the theory of entanglement.

This is somewhat a mind blowing theory, however, my short video (5:27) takes this

How to get your work published

Written by Stuart Haden on July 30, 2014

When I tell people I have written a book, much of the conversation turns to how they want to write and get published. As a coach this is always an interesting twist to the story, ‘everyone has a book in them’ I often quip. If you want to get your work published you can either work hard on developing the manuscript, or you can start at the other end – the publisher. I apply a more intuitive approach to my
